New options for the treatment of distal radius fractures

Fractures of the distal radius are very common. Failure of manual reduction or cumulative articular surface fractures require surgical treatment. Traditional surgical methods include open reduction and internal fixation with plates and screws. However, there are disadvantages of the stimulation of the internal fixation to the body and the need for a second operation to remove the internal fixation, resulting in a long treatment cycle and the need for reoperation. The external fixator has been used for distal radius fractures for a long time. It has the advantages of simple operation, effective fixation, and no need for secondary surgery to obtain internal fixation. However, the domestic external fixator is a fixed type and cannot perform early functional exercise of the wrist joint, which is likely to cause postoperative complications. Joint stiffness. The movable cross-wrist external fixation bracket is used for the treatment of distal radius fractures. While the fracture is firmly fixed, the bracket is cleverly designed to allow early movement of the wrist joint, and the operation of removing the bracket is simple, safe and painless, and does not require a second operation.
